Best time to travel to Pingyao Ancient City And Shanxi Province?
The weather in Pingyao is generally mild and warm which makes the land a perfect destination all year round.. Every season is special and offers a different view of the land.
Summer (June - September) is the high tourist season and it is highly recommended to book for accomodation and other services well in advance.the train tickets should be five days in advance. During the Pngyao International Photography Festival (usually from 16th to 22nd of September) and China national day(from 1st to 4th of October) you should also be advised to book your tour to Pingyao well in advance.

Traveling to Pingyao Ancient City during winter time (December-February) is possible and even recommended though you should expect a few snow days throughout your trip.
